In the heart of Sagamu, there stood a School for Children with Special Needs. These extraordinary children faced unique challenges every day, but it was during a needs assessment visit in December 2022 that the trustees of Sparkle Foundation truly understood the magnitude of their struggle. It became apparent that the lack of proper mattresses, pillows, and clean bed sheets was taking a toll on their health and overall well-being.

Determined to make a difference, the trustees of Sparkle Foundation made a decision, and this project would be their priority for the year 2023. They recognized the urgent need to provide the children with comfortable sleeping arrangements and create a clean living environment where they could thrive.

In their quest to bring this initiative to life, Sparkle Foundation sought the support of Green Springs School, a renowned educational institution guided by the motto “In Love, Serve One Another.” Together, under the banner of the “Share a Smile Project,” we set out to make a lasting impact on the lives of these special children.

As we embarked on their mission, we faced a hurdle, the weather was not on our side. Undeterred by the rain, the dedicated team at Sparkle Foundation pressed on, determined to serve the children of the Special Needs School in Sagamu. We rolled up our sleeves and engaged in a range of activities. The hostels were cleaned thoroughly, creating a hygienic environment for the children. New mattresses and pillows were procured, ensuring they would now have comfortable sleeping conditions. And to further their educational journey, school bags, and educational items were distributed to 100 deserving children.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of esteemed partners. Sparkle Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to Henkel AG & Co., Mouka Foam, Green Springs School, Ms. Joan Sanya-Mathews, and Bose Osisanya-Kadri. Their unwavering support and generosity played a vital role in transforming the lives of these children. Together, we created an environment that fostered their well-being, providing them with the care and comfort they deserved.

The success of this project serves as a reminder that no act of kindness is too small. Sparkle Foundation believes in the strength of collaboration and the profound impact it can have on the lives of vulnerable individuals. With every partnership and collective effort, we were able to bring about meaningful change.
